sudo apt update
sudo apt install squeakr

Upgrades then arrive with sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade.

Fedora / RHEL (dnf)

sudo curl -fsSL https://dixonsolutions.github.io/Squeakr/rpm/squeakr.repo -o /etc/yum.repos.d/squeakr.repo
sudo dnf install squeakr

Upgrades then arrive with sudo dnf upgrade. dnf asks you to confirm the key on first use.

After installing

The package enables Squeakr as a user service out of the box. Then:

squeakr setup      # agent CLI, projects, and hosting such as Tailscale
loginctl enable-linger "$USER"   # keep it running after you log out
